IoT Transforms

IoT strategy designed around the specific needs of complex organisations in competitive markets

We are supplier, vendor and solution “Agnostic”. Our focus is "singularly" on finding the best ways for your organisation to benefit from the Internet of Things (IoT).

What we do

We help organisations to understand IoT is an eco-system that will need suppliers, and then help them define their IoT strategy in value-adding ways.

Through a combination of research, reports, workshops, Value Engineering, Organisational Learning, Big Data and Deep Learning algorithms, prototyping and result focused 'change' management.

  • Finding innovative ways to generate new revenue streams and optimise costs.
  • Using IoT technology to establish better ways of connecting with customers and building deeper trusted relationships.
  • Unfolding innovation in ways that engage and enthuse your employees.
  • Looking to the future and defining new product and service “road maps”.
  • Identifying “IoT pivot points” to ‘uberise’ established value chains.
  • Seeing data as a way to deliver new added-value to commoditised “things” (e.g. from selling pumps to selling ‘pressure by the hour’).
  • Reinventing supply chain models to give customers greater personalised services.

Service Menu

What we do is packaged into services so it's easier to plan when to bring us in to help.

  • Futures: Research and "Scenario Planning" workshops that map out possible future-worlds and identifying ‘real-option-like’ opportunities that are low cost today but could be high value in the future. The deliverable is a report written specifically for your organisation

  • Options: Research and "Value Engineering" workshops that map out the various IoT options with their advantages and disadvantages so ‘upside’ and ‘downside’ risks are better understood when making investment-decisions. What will be in-sourced and what will be out-sourced? The deliverable is a report with a choice-map based around 'pros and cons'

  • Prototyping: Lab work to develop a small-scale version of the end-to-end IoT ‘core’ solution as a way to help non-IT subject matter experts understand how best to describe their requirements. The deliverable is a small prototype solution 'on a bench' to expose the core idea and a method statement explaining envisaged 'implementation' issues suppliers will need to overcome.

  • Use Cases: Desk-research and "Value Mapping" workshops that craft use cases which will be used by suppliers in the procurement phase. The deliverable is a pre-agreed set of use-cases written up so they can be sent to potential suppliers.

  • Pre-Procurement: Research and "Vision & Mission" workshops in a pre-procurement phase that prepares both the organisation and suppliers so that the ‘purpose’ of the investment, expected benefits and minimum-ROI is clearer and better understood as the formal procurement phase begins.

Futures

There are far more possible futures unlocked by IoT than most companies and organisations realise.

In our “Futures” service we will:

  • Undertake industry research to explore possibilities.
  • Undertake a scenario planning program that moves us to an “Anticipate and Adapt” mindset.
  • Innovate new products, services and new ways of working.
  • Co-create with key stakeholders such as employees, customers etc.
  • Identify key features good management plans must anticipate and be able to handle.
  • Prepare the organisation to assess current plans in line with the selected scenarios.
  • Integrate Organisational Learning capabilities so our involvement carries on after we leave.
  • Outcome: Improved transformational capability and in ways that minimises change resistance.

IoT Options

There are hundreds of ways we can approach IoT, but which is the best one for you?

In our “IoT Options” service we will:

  • Understand the existing IT Strategy and align with a business-value strategy.
  • Develop a roadmap based on “Enterprise Architecture as Strategy”.
  • Outline Architectural Options in a changing world.
  • Link "Anticipate and Adapt" mindsets to IT Strategy
  • Help you select the best “direction of travel” with Real Options thinking.
  • Align Business Innovation with IT Innovation (i.e. enable IT- OT Convergence)
  • Prepare for unexpected opportunities or threats and be ready for them

Outcome: Integrated IT and Business Plans in ways that can cope with uncertainties.

Prototyping

Reduce uncertainty in what suppliers will be asked to deliver and get a sense of "indicative costs" that are likely.

In our “IoT Prototyping” service we will:

  • Build a small-scale version of the IoT solution from sensor / actuator to actionable-insights.
  • Identify which parts of the end-to-end IoT solution will have key Intellectual Property (IP) and so be kept in-house.
  • Develop first-of-breed Deep Learning and Big Data algorithms.
  • Enable non-IT subject matter experts to be part of the design process.
  • Define Key Performance Indices that will be used in supplier-selection later.
  • Provide a way for other ‘trusted experts’ to get involved.

Outcome: Validate the core idea before any large investment is made.

IoT Use Cases

Use Cases prove what is being asked for has been thought through and enables comparison of offers from competing suppliers.

In our “IoT Use Cases” Package we will:

  • Map existing workflows and the functionality embedded in them.
  • Innovate the workflow with IoT possibilities.
  • Co-create new workflows with employees, to minimise change resistance.
  • Define KPIs for IT performance boundaries.
  • Craft one or more Use Cases we can use as part of the procurement of process.

Outcome: Develop a way to allow competing suppliers to bring their best solutions in ways that allow one supplier to be compared with another.

Pre-Procurement

Which IT firms should you send out a “Request For Proposal” to?

In our “Pre-Procurement” service we will:

  • Define your IoT Requirements (Functional and Non Functional).
  • Agree the architectural options that best fit with “your” requirements.
  • Help you draw up a list of viable candidates to engage with.
  • Help develop a “Request for Information” (RfI) or "Request for Proposal" (RfP) communication plan and messages.
  • Help to review responses.
  • Help to develop a shortlist of suppliers to send a RfI or RfP to.
  • Run "Early Engagement" workshops that allow suppliers to innovate (Help them differentiate themselves and leverage your value, but in ways that are always assessed through predefined metrics).

Outcome: Request information and proposals from credible suppliers.
